So did this actually work for anyone? Does anyone have Win 10 running properly on an Aspire V5-571?
Thanks

Yes. It did. There are some random memory issues where the screen goes black and logs you out of your account. Other than that, it seems to be working.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up finding another thread where people got it working, someone reported the same memory problem (was it you? ;-) Said he fixed it by turning off some Acer Power management function if I remember right. Might be worth checking out if you're still having trouble.
I ended up upgrading last night and it seemed to go really smooth. I think I still need to install a Win 10 driver for the Bluetooth, and haven't run it long enough to know if memory problems yet, so we'll see how it goes.
Cheers!

My V5-571 upgraded smoothly and is performing ok. However the upgrade deactivated my Crystal Eye webcam and microphone. I have downloaded and installed the most up-to-date driver from Acer's website but the camera is still kaput.
Also a lot of programs struggle under Win 10 (frequently hang up, 'Not Responding') -- and not just older programs either.
I guess that while many older PCs are Win 10 capable, because they were never designed to run under W10 their older drivers, etc, are just not up to it.
It would be nice if Microsoft could come up with a fix for this because it affects Skype.

I got a V5-571 with Win10 , upgraded since 1 year ago, all is working except SDCARD, seems like that realtek driver is unsupported. No problems in my previous Win8.1, but it doesnt work anymore in Win10. Would be nice to have a patch on this, else I would have to stick to an external SDCard Reader. :(

I have many PC's I've either upgraded or done clean installs of Win 10, Home and Pro. The only one I had problems with was an Acer V5-571P. It initially upgraded to Win10 and seemed fine, until the 'Anniversary Update' came along and killed it. Tried all of the online fixes, none worked, reverted it to 8.1. Was working fine until recently when SMART began reporting disk problems. So, I replaced the HD and did a clean install of Win10 Home, figured it might work if I started from scratch.
Looks like it worked. Everything works except the SD card reader, you can see there's an unknown PCI device showing in Device Manager, I assume that's it. Camera and microphone work fine. Did the first set of post-install updates from MS with no problems afterward.

FWIW, if you're having problems with your V5-571 with Win10, I'd try a clean install from either a DVD or USB. Worked for me. Make sure you start with a wiped HD to be sure you've gotten rid of any previous installs.
